Patrick Harris

Patrick "Pat" Harris, 71, of Silvis, died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born on Feb. 4, 1941, in Gadsen, Ala., to Byron and Edna Otha Handy Harris. He married Gloria Barnes on June 23, 1974, in Rock Island. He worked at Farmall in Rock Island until they closed in 1986. He then worked for Navistar in Springfield, Ohio, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Friends Circle Club in Moline. He was an avid golfer. He loved NASCAR and was a stock car owner and driver in the Quad-Cities area. He especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Gloria; son, Robbie (Bobby) Harris, Bettendorf; daughters, Julie (Greg) Young, Moline, Rebecca (Michael) Powlistha, Clinton, Iowa, and LaShelle Harris, Clinton; grandchildren, Heath and JJ Harris, Charlie and Sara Young, Terra Jones, Nathen Foster and Jyshon Harris; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Tricia Harris, Clinton, Phil (Julie) Harris, Clinton, and Michael Harris, Nevada; special mother-in-law, Beulah Barnes. He was preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Charles and Robert Harris
