Pauline Shappard

Pauline Anne Shappard, 88 , of Silvis Passed away May 1, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.

Pauline was born Sept.5, 1929 in Port Arthur, TX the daughter of Nicolaos and Elsie Mason Gerniottis. She was the last living member of her immediate family which included her parents, and 2 siblings. Pauline married Harold Shappard Nov. 24, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas. He passed away Nov. 12, 1992. Pauline was a wonderful, caring mother and devoted wife who loved to do fun things with her children and grandchildren. After raising her children she worked for Sears in Moline then she served many families in the Quad Cities as a visiting homemaker. Pauline and Harold attended Crosstown Baptist church where Harold was one of the original founders in 1943.

Pauline is survived by her 3 sons Phil (Nora) Shappard, Doug (Helvettia) Shappard, and Darryl (Elvira) Shappard; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Wayne Shappard, brother, Johnny Gerniottis, sister,Helen Gerniottis Boswell.
