Pauline Vaughn-Cahoon, 79, of Moline, passed away June 18, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A memorial visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with a memorial service following. Burial will be at a later date at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Pauline was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Roseville, Ill., daughter of Fred and Helen Poland Matteson. She married Ira Vaughn on July 3, 1952, in Alexis. He passed away Feb. 9, 2001. She later married Marvin Cahoon on Nov. 24, 2004, in Rock Island. He passed away in June 2008. Pauline was a school bus driver for Riverdale and East Moline school districts. She enjoyed playing basketball, sewing, ceramics, reading and dancing. Pauline was the first Warren County Fair queen. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Congdon, Silvis; sons, Paul (Julia) Vaughn, Fort Myers, Fla., and Perry (Margo) Vaughn, Moline; grandchildren, Michael Congdon Jr., Alan Vaughn and Leslie Persich; and six great-grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a brother, Tom Matteson.
