Richard F. "Roach" Dunsworth

Richard F. “Roach” Dunsworth, 83, of Colona passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A celebration of life will be held 4-8pm Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Colona American Legion Post 1233. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or Colona American Legion Post 1233.

Richard was born May 24, 1940 in Macomb, IL the son of Homer and Wilma Pointer Dunsworth. He graduated in 1958 in Macomb. Richard served in the Army during  the Viet Nam Era. He married Marsha Setser January 14, 1966 in Macomb, IL. He worked for Case IH, retiring in 1992. He then tended bar at the Track Inn in Carbon Cliff and currently tended bar at the Colona Legion where he was a member. Richard was also a member of the East End Club and a past Mason. He enjoyed sports, boating mowing his grass, and sitting outside in the sun and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Marsha; children Stacey (Terry Jr.) Gates of Colona and Craig (Krista) Dunsworth of Carbon Cliff; grandchildren Steven (Kristen) Gates, Nick (Shelby Jacobsen) Gates, Kyle (Cali) Dunsworth, Nathan (Stacie) Dunsworth, Megan Dunsworth, Nolan Dunsworth, and Keegan Dunsworth; great grandchildren Oakley Gates, Saylor Gates, Lincoln Dunsworth, Walker Dunsworth, and Hudson Dunsworth and many close friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
