Richard A. Jones, 80, of Silvis, died Monday, March 28, 2011, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. A memorial fund will be established. Burial is at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.
He was born July 19, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Earl and Viola Woods Jones. He married Cathy Norton Aug. 14, 1971, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
Rich was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed collecting marbles and matchbooks along with anything else; he also enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy; children (and spouse), Holly Jones and Richard (Kari) Jones, both of Moline; sisters, Edna Wheeler, New York, and Mildred Woods, Connecticut; brother, Robert Jones, Connecticut; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kayelyn, Micah and Elijah.
