Richard E. McMullen Sr., 68, of Homosassa, Fla., formerly of Silvis, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at his home.Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Citrus Hospice.He was born Feb. 26, 1943, in Moline, to Charles and Helen Gritton McMullen. He married Diane Gunter on Dec. 20, 1968, in Geneseo.Richard was a machinist for John Deere Harvester, retiring after 32 years of service.He enjoyed tinkering with cars and loved being with his kids and grandkids.Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Diane; children, Rick McMullen, Wichita, Kan., Brad (Crystal) McMullen, Hillsdale, Dawn (Brad) Holloman, Hanover Park, Ill., and Tiffany (Justin) Marshall, East Dubuque, Ill.; eight grandchildren; brother, Tom (Judy) Elliott, Rock Island.He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Nelson Elliott.
