Richard D. "Beon" Spiker Sr., 51, Colona, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born June 9, 1960, in Macomb, son of Leonard and Violet Christian Spiker. He married Penny Voorhis, July 27, 1985, in Green Rock
Beon enjoyed racing in East Moline, where he raced in the early 1990s, fishing, putting together 3D puzzles, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Penny, Colona; his mother, Violet Christian, Macomb; sons, Richard Jr. and Steven, both of Colona; grandchildren, Caden and Camryn, both of Colona; brother, Rodney Dean Spiker, Colona. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Ronald D. Spiker.
