Richard Swanson

Richard A. Swanson, 78, of Silvis passed away February 17, 2021 at Unity Point Rock Island.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Richard was born December 22, 1942 in Moline, IL the son of Glenwood and Lillian Lewis Swanson. He married Helen June Fedena November 6, 1965 in Pennsylvania. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Richard worked at Ns Finch, Montgomery Elevator, and retired from Silvis School District after 33 years.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Helen; sons Robert (Rocio) Swanson, David (Tracy) Swanson, Kenneth Swanson, and Aaron Swanson; grandchildren Kyle (Brandi) Swanson, Alexa Swanson, Joel Swanson, Hanna (Jacob) Schmall, Isabel Swanson, Andre Barrera, Chelsi Barrera and great grandchildren Macyn Barrera and Chanelle Chedister.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Peter.
