Robert C. Anderson, 94, passed Tuesday morning, June 7, 2011, in Ankeny, Iowa.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Friday night at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.
He was born Nov. 14, 1916, in the homestead located near Annawan. He was the child of Hulda Marie Anderson and James Anton Anderson.
He was a machinist for Farmall, Ametek and John Deere before he retired from John Deere. He enjoyed music, wood working, finding and polishing rocks and gemstones.
Robert had accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his early 20s and was a member at First Baptist of Silvis for 50 years, Wildwood, Moline, and then attended Ankeny until he could no longer go.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dellora E. Anderson; his older brothers, Everett Anderson, Carl Anderson, and his younger brother, Jim Anderson.
He has two children, Glen Russell Anderson, currently living in Moline, and Judy L. (Anderson) Abbott, living in Des Moines, Iowa. He was blessed with four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
