Robert Cunningham

Robert S. Cunningham, 58, of Rock Island, passed away Feb. 21, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday on top of Longview Park at 18th Avenue and 17th Street in Rock Island. Robert was born Sept. 11, 1957, in Rock Island, the son of Arthur and Mary Waters Cunningham. He married Elizabeth Collier Sept. 15, 1980. He worked as a handyman, painter and gardener and also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his son, Keith Michael Collier, Rock Island; sisters, the Rev. Dr. Jacqueline J. Cunningham-Walls and Mrs. Mary V. Cunningham-Norington, both of Rock Island; brothers, Ronald, Moline, Dwayne and Arthur, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and David, Davenport; 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren he cherished; a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly; and special friends, the Rev. Donald W. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Elex Roberts, Rock Island. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; grandson, Michael C. Collier; three brothers, Marvin, Thomas and James; and three sisters, Dorothy Morgan, Mary Ann and Patricia Morrow.
