Robert “Bob” L. Davis, 73, of Colona, passed away January 21, 2022, in Montana.
Bob was born on July 27, 1948, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Leslie L. Davis and Lola Ann Davis. After losing Lola Ann Davis in 1951, God blessed the family by giving them Jeanette Madelaine Davis, who married Leslie Davis on March 15, 1956. Bob married Ilse Meyer on April 21, 1987, in Hannibal, Missouri. Bob previously worked as a dredge operator at Riverstone. He was the former owner and operator of the Purple Onion restaurant in Annawan. Bob enjoyed reading western books, horses, and hiking in the mountains of Montana. He was a member of the Buckskinners Rendezvous and friends and family helped build Fort Obie for the Rendezvous in Colona, IL. He enjoyed hunting, shooting sporting clays and spending time with friends and family. Bob liked tending to his yard and taking care of his orchid for the last 5 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ilse Davis; siblings, Dee (Chuck) Thieme, Jim (Crissie) Davis, Janie (Tim) Baugh, Julie (Darrell) Tyler, Tom (Lisa) Davis, Debbie (Walter) McClain; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lola Ann Davis, Leslie L. Davis, and Jeanette Madelaine Davis.
As Bob said, “I’ve had a Wonderful Life, I have a Wonderful Wife, a Wonderful Family and Great Friends. Who could ask for anything more?”
The family is holding a private graveside service followed by a Celebration of Life for Bob, June 04, 2022 at 12:00pm - 4:00pm, at the Sporting Clays Club House at 817 Cleveland Rd., Colona, IL.
