Robert T. "Bob" Housholder, 72, of Silvis, passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 12, 2011, surrounded by his family at Trinity Rock Island.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Bob was born April 3, 1939, in Bonaparte, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Louise Schuelka Housholder. He graduated from Bonaparte High School. Bob married Diana Rider July 6, 1958, in Farmington, Iowa.
He was a supervisor at Deere and Co., retiring June 30, 1992. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Carbon Cliff and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's events. He also enjoyed going to the casino, tinkering with cars and woodworking, even helping build his children's homes.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Diana; children, Robert (Jeanne) Housholder, Champaign, Ill., Julie (Paul) Short, Rapids City, Robin (Tim) Hanley, Moline, Wayne (Suzy) Housholder, Davenport; grandchildren, Chad (Missy) Short, Rapids City, Alexis Housholder, Davenport, Ethan Housholder, Champaign, Adam Short, Rapids City, Blaik Hall, Coyne Center, Sean Hanley, Moline, Mike Hanley, Moline, Mykala Housholder, Davenport; great-granddaughter, Haylee Short, Rapids City; sisters, Betty Hogue, East Moline, and Alice Brown, Silvis.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
