Robert Morris

Robert "Bob" E. Morris, 82, of East Moline passed away Aug. 17, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 10am Thursday at Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline where he was a long time member and trustee. Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or QCAWC. Robert was born Dec. 20, 1932 in Selma, IA the son of Albert and Ethel Phillips Morris. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert married Dolores Viager March 31, 1956 in Milan, IL. Robert worked as an electrician at Caterpillar for 22 years and later retired from Alcoa after 14 years. He was a member of IBEW and UAW. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and building and loved spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and his dogs. Survivors include his wife Dolores; children Linda Morris of Rapids City, Karen Morris of Moline, Mike (Alice) Morris of Wichita, KS, Dawn Morris of East Moline and Lisa (Todd) Cantrell of Carbon Cliff; grandchildren Robert Conner, Kylie Cantrell, Collin Cantrell, Dylan Cantrell and Alexander Morris; brothers Albert Jr, James and Donald Morris. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
