Robert Walker

Robert L. Walker, 84, of Moline passed away December 21, 2018 at his home.

Graveside services will be at 1pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend can meet at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis at 12:30 pm. Following will be a Celebration of Life at the Svithiod Club in Moline at 3 pm.

Robert was born Jan. 12, 1934 in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Duffy J and Bernice Collins Walker. He married Jane Fisher June 27, 1958 in Ottumwa. Robert served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Moline Body and later retired from Mosher Trucking. He enjoyed watching westerns, boating, fishing and reading books by his favorite author Louis L’Amour. He was a member of the Moose Club, Elks Club, Vikings Club and the Svithiod Club of Moline.

Survivors include his wife Jane; children Mark (Rosa) Walker of Moline, Julie (Ed) Tillberg of East Moline and Kimberly (Danny) Weaver of Saratoga Springs, UT; grandchildren Adam and Emi Lee Hollinger; 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and siblings John Walker of Eddyville, IA and Mary Johns of Georgia.

Robert was preceded by his parents; stepfather Roy, brothers Joe and Jackie and his sister Betty Furnald.
