Robert E. Wells

Robert E. Wells, 77, of East Moline passed away July 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be 11:00am Monday at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. 

Robert was born August 19, 1946 in Canton, Illinois the son of Orville and Lenora (Padgett) Wells. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam. He reenlisted and continued to serve for 2 more years. Robert married Patricia McKeon December 18, 1966 in Moline, IL. Robert worked as a welder at John Deere Davenport Works, retiring in 2007 after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and working on cars. 

Survivors include his wife Pat; children Robert E. Wells Jr., John (Esther) Wells, and Heather (Rich) Sanderson; grandchildren Robert E. Wells III, Jacob Sanderson, Maegan Wells, Katelyn Sanderson, Delayne Sanderson; great granddaughter Quinn George; siblings Barbara Smith, Butch Wells, Jerry (Flo) Wells, Betty (Gary) Curb, Kathy Wells, and Carrie (Dennis) Grove and his best friend Louie Morris and his favorite ride “Snarky.”

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pat, Joannie, Sandy, and Diane, and a baby brother Calvin.
