Roger W. Gunneman, 86, of Hampton passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Calvary Church 4700 53rd Street in Moline. Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church or one’s favorite charity.
Roger was born January 12, 1938 in Coopersville, Michigan the son of Frank and Joanne (Busman) Gunneman. He married Rochelle Achilles October 20, 1961 at Peace Lutheran Church in Port Byron. Roger retired from International Harvester in 2000, working in the experimental department with sheet metal layout. He was a member of Coopersville Historical Society and the Galesburg Railroad Museum. He was a railroad collector and enthusiast and enjoyed riding bikes and repairing and cleaning the bike path. Roger loved singing with the men’s group “The Called”.
Survivors include his wife Rochelle; children Connie (Steve) Gyenge of Moline, Jill Murray of East Moline and Eric (Caroline) Gunneman of East Moline; grandchildren Annelyse, Lauren, Jordan, Samantha, Caitlyn, Connor, Collin, and Garret; great grandchildren Leah, Ben, Camila, Lincoln, Amelia, Banks, and Evie and a sister Barbara Lahiff of Brownsburg, IN
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jim Lahiff.
