Ronald Tripp, 85, of Colona, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Genesis Medial Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
He was born June 13, 1926, New Salem, Mo., to Jay and Ival Lambert Tripp. He married Rita Carter Feb. 14, 1947, in Troy, Kan.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired as a shop foreman at American Air Filter in Moline.
He was a member of Green Rock/Colona Legion Post 1233, enjoyed golfing in a traveling league with his wife, loved woodworking and building, bowling and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Colona.
Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Rita, Colona; children, Gina (Kevin), Michael (Cheryl), Jerry (Renyee); grandchildren, Keri, Chandra, Sarah, Joshua, John; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, Ally, Jerry Lee Jr., Felishia, Abby, Brenna, Mya; sisters, Vondene; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
