Ronda Joyce Nelson, 53, of Silvis, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at her home.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for a college fund for Ronda's granddaughter.
Ronda was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Moline, the daughter of Robert and Gloria Jacobs Goebel. She married Bruce Nelson Sept. 3, 1977, in Silvis.
She worked at Freebern Chiropractic and Illini Hospital and Aldi's. Ronda enjoyed scrapbooking, facebook, webkinz and spending time with her granddaughter. She also enjoyed walking in Walmart and playing cards and visiting zoos around the country with her granddaughter and Dylan.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce; sons, BJ and Brandon Nelson; granddaughter, Alexis Nelson; parents, Robert and Gloria Goebel; sister, Amy (Todd) Meeske; brothers, Scott (Jean) Goebel, Jay (Lisa) Goebel, Greg Goebel, Kyle (Bonita) Goebel; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; special little friend, Dylan Martin.
Ronda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Caroline Jacobs and her mother and father-in-law, Ted and Rose Nelson.
