Ruth Marie Knott, 90, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at her daughter's home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline or Harvest Bible Chapel in Davenport. Ruth was born April 6, 1922, in Davenport, the daughter of William and Hilda Willers Clauson. She married Clifton James Knott in 1946. Ruth lived most of her life in Davenport and has spent the last 10 years at her daughter's home in East Moline. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a secretary retiring in 1986. Ruth enjoyed working in the yard, knitting and crocheting. She also loved spending time with her sister, cousins and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Craig) Meeske, East Moline; son Criss (Sharon) Knott, Coal Valley; grandchildren, Todd (Amy) Meeske, East Moline, Chad (Sarah) Meeske, Moline, Michael (Angie) Knott, Aurora, Ill., Andrew (Kayla) Knott, Moline, and Kelsey Knott, Coal Valley; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Meeske, Jacob Meeske, Megan Meeske, Haley Meeske, Alyssa Knott, Gabriel Knott and Dominic Knott. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Dale Knott; sister, Lois Beadel; and a brother, Robert Clauson.
