Sarwar Jacob Ghauri, 58, of Davenport, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2017, at Our Savior Presbyterian Church in Le Claire. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Davenport. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jacob was born Aug. 24, 1958, in Pakistan, the son of Sardar Masih and Susan Ghauri. He married Neena Singh Oct. 31, 1991, in Pakistan. Jacob worked as a mechanical engineer and was very active at Our Savior Presbyterian Church in Le Claire, where he was a former Deacon. In his younger years he was very athletic and enjoyed playing soccer. Jacob was especially happy when he became an American citizen in March 2014, and celebrated the event with the staff and residents of St. Mary's.
Survivors include his daughter Ramsha Jennifer Ghauri; son Dawood Julius Ghauri; cousins Sylvia D'Souza of Canada, Alex Parvez of Florida and Parveen Qureshi of Texas; aunt Joyce (Joseph) Emmanuel; niece Jessica of Pakistan; close friends Suzy VenHorst and Vincent Thomas.
