Shirley M. Engholm, 83, of Colona, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Colona Community Loan Closet.
Shirley was born March 10, 1929, in Edwardsville, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Edna Eilers Kniser. She married Clarence Engholm, May 17, 1947. He died May 13, 1997.
She enjoyed going to the riverboat, playing cards, camping and bowling.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Prescott; son, Walter Engholm; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty DeBruine. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and two sisters.
