Stanley Andon

Stanley R. Andon, 82, of East Moline, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. As he wished, he will be cremated and services will be private. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is assisting the family with arrangements. Stanley was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Moline, son of Speer and Katherine Vassel Andon. He married Donna Nelson on July 30, 1953. He served in the Navy Reserves during the Korean War. Stanley retired from International Harvester after 32 years of service. He loved being outdoors, working in the yard and reading. He was also a faithful Bears and Cardinals fan. Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Debra Kane, Alan Andon, Jeffrey Andon and Loraine Redman; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Viola Calvert; and several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
