Steven L. Jones

Steven L. Jones, 72, of Moline passed away September 5, 2022 at his home.

Graveside services will be 11am Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30am Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.

Steven was born October 9, 1949 in Moline, IL the son of Wendell F. and Patricia L. (Vershaw) Jones. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. Steven married Linda Rogers May 26, 1973 in Moline. He worked at McLaughlin Body, International Harvester, and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 2013. Steven was a very family-oriented man and gladly opened his home to everyone. He enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, wood carving and watching westerns. He loved giving everyone a nickname and always had the best sense of humor. Steven's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Linda; children Roxanne (Willie) Diaz, Lucas Jones, Lindsay (Jacob) Frits, and Michaela Chappell; grandchildren Maiah Brown, Jadalise Jones, Alaina Diaz, Dominick Diaz, Carlito Granado, Jackson Frits, Thea Frits, and Piper Frits; great grandchildren Ruby and JR.; sisters Linda Clewell and Sharon (Larry) Domyancich.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers Bruce and Brian Jones.
