Susana Pena Barrera

Susana “Susie” Pena Barrera, 54, of East Moline passed away peacefully December 10, 2020 at her home.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Due to COVID 19 funeral services will be private. In accordance with public gathering guidelines, social distancing will be observed, capacity limits will be followed within the funeral home and masks will be required. Memorials may be made to the family.

Susana was born July 9, 1966 in Moorhead, MN the daughter of Gloria Pena Ochoa. She married Victor Barrera September 27, 1990. He passed away October 21, 2019. Susana worked as an office aide for East Moline School District 37. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and 31 card game, shopping, cooking, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Joshua Ochoa of Moline, Amanda Ochoa of Dubuque, IA, Victoria (Alfredo) Perez of Crawfordville, IA, Cristina (Mario Diaz) Cardona of Davenport, Mikki (Simran Singh) Barrera of East Moline; stepdaughter Annette (Isidro) Contreras of Milwaukee, WI, 21 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and brothers Francisco (Amy) Ochoa of East Moline, Andy Ochoa of East Moline, and Miguel (Tara) Ochoa.

Susana was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and brother Bob Ochoa.
