Troy Schutt

Troy William Schutt, 55, of East Moline passed away July 6, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

A celebration of life will be 1pm Saturday, July 23, 2022 at “The Camp” (21616 Barstow Road, East Moline). Memorials may be made to the family.

Troy was born August 27, 1966 in Cherokee, IA the son of Janice and Dean Harmon and William Schutt. He married Kelly Rushing Brassfield November 8, 2003 in Jamaica. Troy was a very hard worker. He worked for Foley Contracting and ran his own roofing company Schutt’s Roofing. He loved spending time at his property on the Rock River where he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, spending time with his family and Fireball.

Survivors include his wife Kelly; father Dean Harmon; children Anthony Althiser, Tim (Chrissy) Schutt, Brad (Amanda) Brassfield, Ben (Alicia) Brassfield, and Brittany (Tyler) Brassfield; 19 grandchildren; siblings Tina Hernandez, Darcy (Rob) Killian, Tammy (Bill) Ruggeberg, Deanette Irizarry, Terry Harmon, and Randy Schutt; sister in law Nikki Schutt; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother in law Jo (Nick) Jennes; father in law Ernie (Gloria) Rushing; several brother in laws and sister in laws, best friend John Andrew, and ALL OF THE RIVER GANG.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother Janice Harmon, father William Schutt, brother Rick, niece Leann, and a great nephew Julian.
