Verna Barnes

Verna Kay Barnes, 54, of Rock Island passed away Friday - September 13, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center West Campus in Davenport. A memorial service will be held 6:30 P.M. September 21, 2013 at Faithwalk World Outreach Center in Silvis. Memorials may be made to the family. Verna was born Jan. 5, 1959 in Macomb, IL the daughter of Beverly Friday Brooks. She worked for Genesis Medical Center in patient finance. She enjoyed knitting, reading and volunteering at Faithwalk World Outreach Center in Silvis where she was a member. Verna especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. Survivors include her mother Beverly Brooks of East Moline; son Ryan Lee Barnes of Pekin, IL; grandsons Braden and Jacob; siblings Jane Swanson King of Rock Island, Sheila Claring of MO, Steven Swanson of Memphis, TN, Andy Kraavi of Florida and Robert Britt of Michigan. Verna was preceded in death by her husband Dale Barnes and a brother Richard.
