Virginia I. Gause, 91, of Silvis, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Moline. A memorial fund will be established.
Virginia was born March 24, 1919, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Kryne and Olive VerPloeg. She married Fred Hampton Gause Jan. 17, 1942, in Missouri. He passed away in January 1991.
Virginia was a first grade teacher at George O. Barr School in Silvis for 22 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silvis for 64 years. She loved and enjoyed her family, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include her children, Trudy (Jerry) Stoehr, Groveland, Ill., Candy Eastman, Silvis, Sara (Ken) Archibald, Canton, Mich., the Rev. Mark (Kim) Gause, Alhambra, Ill.; and a son-in-law, Dale Wittenborn, Westwood, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Ann Wittenborn.
