Virginia Black

Virginia "Ginny" Black, 91 of Silvis passed away March 29, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Graveside services will be 12noon Monday at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend may meet at Schroder Mortuary at 11am to join the procession. Everyone is invited to a luncheon following the graveside service at St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline. Ginny was born Dec. 7, 1924 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Edward and Emma Belowski Granberg. She married Everett Black Aug, 5, 1961 in East Moline. He passed away Dec. 12, 1981. Ginny was a 4th grade teacher at Bowlesburg Elementary School in East Moline retiring after 24 years. She also volunteered in the office at St. John's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association (Blackhawk Unit). Survivors include her many cousins and second cousins. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Everett and a brother Edward Jr.
