Virginia Black Heimgartner, 65, of Colona, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at her home.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Colona. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Colona (Box 295, Colona, IL 61241).
She was born March 11, 1947, in Kosciusko, Miss., to Jessie and Johnnie Armstrong. She married Frederick Heimgartner on Nov. 17, 1997, in Rock Island.
Survivors include her husband, Frederick; daughter, Jennifer Urven; son, Tim Black; grandchildren, Kelsey, Tyler, Rachel, Hope, Luke, Victoria, Michael, Justin and Frederick; mother, Johnnie Armstrong; sisters, Mary Jones and Joan Britton; brothers, Jessie II, Thomas, Jack and John Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her father.
