Wallace J. "Walt" Landuit, 90, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Avonlea Cottage in Milan. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Rapids City. Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association. Walt was born on July 21, 1923, in Rapids City, the son of Rene and Pharilda Lathem Landuit. He served in the Army during World War II. Walt married Gwendolyn "Gwen" Nelson on Aug. 30, 1945. She passed away on Sept. 21, 2003. He retired from the Rock Island Lines and later worked at Case IH. He enjoyed baseball, golfing, fishing and spending time at his cottage in New Boston. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Landuit, Milan; grandchildren, TJ (Stacey) Landuit, Sherrard, and Jason (Meagan) Landuit, Cordova; great-grandchildren, Jason, Hannah, Ashlynn, Anastasia and Jackson. Walt was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Timothy J. Sr. and Russell "Rusty"; and his brother and sisters.
