William Lee

William Arthur Lee, 68, of Long Grove, passed away July 26, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center West, Davenport. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family with arrangements. William was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Tucson, Ariz., the son of Floyd and Amy Taylor Lee. He served in the Army during Vietnam. Bill was a laborer at Oscar Meyer and also worked at IH Harvester for 15 years and as security for the United States Government at Dugway Proving Grounds. He loved to hunt, fish and was an accomplished storyteller. Survivors include his sister, Katherine (Mike) Hudnut, LaGrange, Mo.; brother, Rick Downs, Buffalo; nephews, Jack (Kelly) Hinson and Brad Hinson; special friends, Steven Nelson and Richard Swanson. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Genesis West and the oncology group for the special care given to Bill.
