William Van Oteghem, 79, of Holcombe, Wis., passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, in Holcombe.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
William was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Moline, the son of Alphonse and Florence Hoogerwerf Van Oteghem. He married Lois Edna Kester Dec. 24, 1948, in Moline. She passed away Jan. 27, 1995. He later married Jeanie Fischer.
He served in the Army during post World War II Germany and the Korean conflict. William was a retired engineer. He worked at John Deere Harvester in East Moline. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Moline and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie; children, Cindy (Kevin Hocker) Fargo, Illinois City, Terry (Russell) Austin, Moline, Victor (Kim) Van Oteghem, Warner Robins, Ga., Susan (Bruce Brown) Spenner, Muscatine; stepchildren, Sandra (Ron) Mahder and Cheryl (Kevin) Flynn, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Norma) Van Oteghem and John (Sally) Van Oteghem, both of Moline.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; and brothers, Richard and Leonard.
